A People‑First Culture Turned Corporate

Fully remote, good benefits and attempts at a fun environment.

Cons

When the new President first came in, most employees were optimistic, as he presented himself as someone who valued people and wanted to strengthen the organization. Over time the culture has shifted toward a more corporate, top‑down environment. What once felt like a people‑first company now feels like a grid of boxes that can be shuffled, reassigned, or removed without much consideration. It’s created a Jenga‑like instability that’s leaving employees disengaged and uncertain about their future. A year ago, during an acquisition, leadership publicly emphasized that Mastercam takes all employees from acquired companies and gives each person a clear path to grow. Now, that promise has evaporated; not everyone is being taken, and those who are often end up placed into random roles that don’t align with their skills or career paths. The disconnect between what leadership says and what actually happens has become impossible to ignore.
