I have been working at CVR full-time for less than a year

    Pros

The interview was quick and painless. And the employee orientation was super helpful and welcoming. As a company not consumed with bureaucracy and politics, I am very impressed by the management's intention to do good, as well as the warm attitude and vibrant energy of its employee.

    Cons

    Have not identified any yet.

I worked at CVR full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Great pay, good for people in operations, and potential for different positions

    Cons

Current owner is slimming down the company, so many of the great perks were cut. The new management in Finance and Accounting is sub par, which many of the employees are leaving.

    Advice to Management

Focus on employees to decrease turnover in F&A.

I have been working at CVR full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    Pay rate and yearly bonus

    Cons

Shop supervisor does his job poorly, has to be reminded to do his job, and blames everyone and everything else for his poor performance. There is rarely training for anything you need to learn. Terrible rotating work schedule Overtime getting cut back Little to no advancement opportunities Management is a joke when it comes to fixing anything that may be an issue. Never any positive reinforcement

    Advice to Management

Stop pretending to take steps forward when you are only walking backwards.

Former Employee - Administrative in Sugar Land, TX

I worked at CVR full-time for more than a year

    Pros

I got a paycheck and a ham I had to drive 15 miles to get. That 15 miles took hour and half, love the traffic.

    Cons

HR is a revolving door, no consistency in the work, the ones with the nice offices are straight up jerks with God complex’s. Not one of them deserve the positions that carry 6 figures. Zero thought for the actual workers. Go in as an independent contractor if you choose to work there, easy escape once you figure out the dynamics.

    Advice to Management

Shame on any one running companies that cannot even communicate appropriately with employees. Stop the the big bad executive game and run the business and when you open your mouth to speak, be intelligent at the very least interesting. Maybe the new management will set brighter days ahead, for the company’s sake, I hope so.
