I worked at Caltex full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Location - very central in city

    Cons

In job interview HR sell you on all the 'opportunity', there is always opportunity as nothing is ever delivered
    No leadership or strategy
Poor internal comms - you find out what is happening inside the company by reading the news
Destructive politics perpetuating a blame culture
2 years into a restructure which will take another 2 years to complete
Quality corporate marketing staff being replaced with ex-agency staff who are great at selling the dream, just not delivering it.
Budget continually cut and re-cut paralysing quality projects and outputs
Being out marketed and out smarted by BP and Shell
All remaining staff looking for other places to work

    Advice to Management

Split the company and sell off the pieces

Survey staff on pros and cons and act on the findings
Implement 360 degree leadership feedback and get rid of the bad managers
