    Pros

Work place flexibility is practically enforced here. It is great for that and it's Baby Bonus package is very generous.
    Growing business

    Cons

Phenomenal amount of change in last three years. If you do the job well, you tend to get pigeon holed. It's not what you know but who you know when it comes to promotions.

    Advice to Management

What is our direction? Every single department has gone through two restructures in the last three years. When will the CLT invest in employees who have enabled the company to achieve these results?

I have been working at Caltex full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Caltex has been a great company over the years. company has a good future if it addresses some of it management issues. The retail business is delivering the results that make the company viable. Chevron selling it shares has made Caltex a truly Australian Owned company

    Cons

Assumption is that everything is broken and we need a new organisation. we need to prepare for the future not throw the baby out with the bath water.

    Advice to Management

Management needs to come clean on what the actual performance is. We cannot be surrounded by yes people as this will not deliver the results. Caltex is a public company and should not be misleading the shareholders

I have been working at Caltex full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great flexibility. There are lots of examples of flexibility for men and women and the benefits for maternity leavers are really great and incredibly helpful. One of the values is care and its really important to everyone.
Also future is exciting... they've built a business in Singapore for trading. closed down a refinery and have an interesting new vision. Share price has grown heaps over last few years.

    Pros

Caltex is a good place to work if you work reasonably hard and work well with internal and external stakeholders. Overall the balance is good and I would recommend to a friend.

    Cons

Whilst the pay is reasonable, the system of fixed grades is not a great system. For me it doesn't allow greater movement and flexibility in pay reviews.
Some people get preferential treatment depending on the hiring manager.

    Advice to Management

Caltex is a good company. I think a top down approach is needed in order to get different teams working together.

    Pros

    Good people
    Interesting work / projects

    Cons

Limited advancement opportunities after you achieved a certain grade, senior leadership roles rarely come up with incumbents spending years in role (8 years plus is not uncommon).

    Advice to Management

Rotate talent more frequently, especially in senior roles to get a new perspective.
