I worked at Catapult Learning part-time

    Pros

I have had A LOT of teaching jobs in multiple states. This was one of my favorite jobs because it was so rewarding. I had students in tears asking me why they had never learned these things before or "how come it's so easy to understand it with you but I just don't get it in the classroom?" I truly hated having to leave. One of the great features of the job is the freedom. No big bother. The principal isn't going to walk in the room to perform an informal observation at any given moment. It's just a very easy going, casual atmosphere that allows for many teachable moments and wonderful learning opportunities for the students.

    Cons

Low pay...yet full-time hours. The pay was just so low I had to leave and find work elsewhere to pay the bills. Some complained about the paperwork, but there's definitely more in a public or even private school system so I never found that to be a problem.

    Advice to Management

Figure out how to increase pay or provide salary increases for those that deserve it. I worked alongside a few teachers who had gotten pretty lazy in this job. They had been there for YEARS and did the bare minimum. I realize that this company struggles to find teachers (good teachers, any teachers) so they just keep what they have but those students deserve better!

I have been working at Catapult Learning full-time

    Pros

    Good salary and flexible hours

    Cons

Lack in Communication, no direction, lack of focus

    Advice to Management

Expectations and job descriptions should be clear. Manage your employees better and make them feel part of a team. Committed employees will go above and beyond and not feel secluded like only upper management can know everything.

    Pros

Flexibility, decent pay...nothing else. It's a job if you desperately need one. If you can find something better, please do.

    Cons

Lack of professionalism from the top to the bottom. Company conducts mass terminations yearly. Beware of the good posts...it's HR LOL

    Advice to Management

I worked at Catapult Learning part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

As a part time teacher your scdeule is some what flexible. Working with students who want to learn was a plus. some good staff, except for some of the management. Good pay

    Cons

To much paper work and not enough support to first year employee teachers. Some of the management is not very professional when communicating with staff. Too much work for a part time position. No benefits for part time workers. Observations were not very fair, and did not reflect the actual effort that a teacher put into creating the lessons, and what the students were able to learn through cumulative lessons during a semester. No support for helping teachers improve their teaching techniques, except for some professional development which is usually offered for teachers, but is not very helpful when trying to put into practice

    Advice to Management

Treat employees more professionally. Allow more time for professional growth and development of teaching staff. Give more support to educational staff. Do not expect full time work loads from part time employees.
