    Pros

Good work environment - sweets in meeting rooms

    Cons

Hectic - most teams are understaffed and carrying out multiple roles

I worked at Channel 4 full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

They care about their staff and offer good incentives on top of an already competitive salary. Stimulating work environment with colleagues who care about their role within the company, as well as caring deeply about the company itself.

    Cons

Not the best canteen food. IT infrastructure is somewhat clunky.

    Advice to Management

Keep it up with the innovating and continue to listen to employees of all levels.

    I worked at Channel 4 full-time

    Pros

Great place to work for people who are self starters and have a positive attitude. Push on the door and you will generally find that it opens, more often than not it opens quickly.

    Cons

Can feel a little 'public sector' at times and not very commercial - they think that they are commercial and they are by public sector standards but not by any commercial business standards.

    Advice to Management

Have a clear, relevant and accessible purpose (ie not just the charter which no one reads and is 30 years out of date). Do this before the government does it for you.

I have been working at Channel 4 full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    A brand that's genuinely loved
    A cathedral of creativity
A place where you can do the best work of your career
It's tele, so what's not to like
You sometimes spot celebs who you never knew existed
It also has a half price canteen once a month
A place you are proud to work at
The only job I've done where watching TV is part of daily requirement

    Cons

It's still a big company, but don't let that put you off
The canteen tastes half price most of the time (still pretty good though)

    Fabulous atmosphere
    Good pay
    Great people

    Cons

    Can't really think of anything

    Keep up the great work

I have been working at Channel 4 full-time

    Pros

Really enjoy working here. Very good company. Creative and takes care of their staff. A good place to work indeed.

    Cons

The lifts never work. And the canteen food isn't as good as it could be. But overall, a good experience here.

    Advice to Management

Continue to be aware of those working below you, and their career prospects. It would be useful to have regular feedback on progress.

I have been working at Channel 4 full-time

    Pros

The company has flexible working and is really driving recruitment for BAME minorities and people with disabilities.

    Private Health Care as standard
2 days extra year on top of standard every Christmas
    Excellent work life balance

    Cons

Headcount constraints are a real issue
Lack of flexibility for salary negotiations are causing good people to leave
Desperately poor pension scheme replaced a fair and pro-employee scheme that had previously been in operation

    Advice to Management

Lift many of the strictures that were imposed following the recession in terms of head count and salary restroctions and offer a more equitable pension plan

    Pros

Interesting job. Active management. Nice place to work for.

    Cons

Some of the work was outsourced.

    Pros

Good company ethos. Good reputation. Top level management good at sharing information / strategy with staff. Nice building and central London location.

    Cons

Sometimes very slow decision making processes. Too cost concious at times. Salaries often considerably lower than private sector. Low staff turnover leads to shortage of opportunities to progress.

    Advice to Management

Endevour to benckmark salaries with private sector - especially for specialist technical / professional roles. Recognise / celebrate work of technical staff more - not just creative staff.
