    Pros

I've worked in a couple of recruitment companies, and reading some of the negative reviews on here are staggering. Cititec is the most supportive, friendly, and genuinely enjoyable recruitment company I've come across. I came from somewhere which was difficult to say the least, where you'd be beaten with a stick (metaphorically of course) for various KPIs and spamming CVs out. Cititec help you build great relationships, and give you every tool under the sun.

It's also incredible how the company has performed this year, and that's in no small part to management but also to some very talented recruiters.

You can always tell the measure of someone by how they treat people more junior than them, and for example the kindness shown to the cleaner & the DIY guys from the directors you wouldn't see at any other recruitment company.

    Cons

Recruitment always has certain pressures, and Cititec is no different. However if you didn't want the pressure you wouldn't get the financial reward, and that's the same everywhere.

I guess in a smaller company there's less opportunity to 'progress' past say Principle Consultant, but then again if you do well enough the company are very vocal about being happy to add juniors into a team.

    Advice to Management

If anything be a little pushier, it can be too easy to have a quiet day and it go unnoticed!

    - Relaxed environment
    - Patience when it comes to under-achievers
    - They take on graduates

    - Inappropriate sexism
    - Certain staff are favoured more than others
    - Consultants being handed sales
    - Current Directors do not know how to run a business
    - Very high staff turn over with also directors and managers leaving

    Advice to Management

    I worked at Cititec full-time

    Pros

There is no micro-management at Cititec; people are left to get on with their job. Its a small company so it is easier to get things done. Some great back office staff but some of them are now jumping ship.

    Cons

Unfortunately there are quite a few cons for Cititec. The management needs looking at - senior management are not necessarily qualified for Directorships and can be very unprofessional at times. One of the best Directors was nudged out and things started to spiral then for key teams. Certain members of staff are acknowledged and given commission on deals where they have had no input, much to the frustration of people working hard and not given anything for free. There is definitely special treatment of a few long-standing team members. Juniors are brought in to work markets where management have no idea, ultimately resulting in them leaving from not been given the support they need - Cititec isn't a place for people new to recruitment unless working in one of their key markets. Murex is so heavily ring-fenced by staff operating in that area, so only people working within banking/finance IT have any chance really. It could have been a great company but I think it has probably seen its best days. Staff are always leaving and unfortunately the company is now on a bit of a downward spiral.

    Advice to Management

Need to become a more professional organisation with more experienced people at the helm.

I have been working at Cititec full-time

    Pros

Love working here, have done for entirety of my stay, this was m first role in recruitment and have had many successful years here now. They let you learn on the job and most importantly do not micro -manage but treat you with the trust to build your own business, and show them what you get out of it is what you ultimately put in to it. Good hard working people here and none of the showy recruitment cliche tyoes.

    Cons

Business has evolved a lot with the market, however enough people have have adapted well and got their heads down. Many people have left bitterly due to their own work drying up, You wouldnt get a better environment in another agency put it that way.

    Advice to Management

    none

    Pros

    Good people, flexibility of work.

    Cons

    Management and no clear vision.

    Advice to Management

Stick to one thing and go for it. Moving goal posts shows lack of confidence and ability and doesn't give your staff much hope or motivation.

I have been working at Cititec full-time

    Pros

If you want a recruitment role that encourages you to build your own business within a business - Cititec offers the best platform to do this. If you possess initiative, resilience & drive to succeed then they have the resources to help you.
Fun working environment; lots of incentives.. lunch club, holidays, cash prizes. Commission structure is very competitive.
The Sales Directors are historical Cititec top billers & know the recruitment world inside out. The flat structure allows you to work closely with them & benefit from their experience.
Great balance between managing people who need supervision & allowing self-sufficient people to get on with the task in hand.
Despite a few hiccups in the past, Cititec are very good at selecting good people to join the company who have the right passion & personality needed to keep us all working as one unit.

    Cons

It’s rare for a successful recruiter to leave their company. Regardless of hearsay, people tend to leave a recruitment job because they are not as successful as they hope/are expected to be, so feel fresh start will help them. The joy of the recruitment world is knowing where you stand - if you don't achieve the primary objective of making money & don't apply the required effort then you won’t achieve the great things on offer here.. However Cititec provide everything you could possibly need including support & a career path, so the rest is up to you.
As markets changed, our people didn’t change which created some negative responses, however we now have the right people with the same vision.
I was very surprised at some of the negative comments on here, as whilst everyone is entitled to their opinion, I’ve been here for the ups & down over six years & feel that some largely negative comments have simply arisen from bitterness, which is a common theme in the industry.

    Advice to Management

Continue in the same direction, adapting with the market & bringing in the right kind of people into the business.

I have been working at Cititec full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

They had good processes in place, location was close to City based clients, had strong accounts. Admin and back office support strong.

    Cons

Commission structure could have been better, bosses were cutthroat and there were some strange cuts in staff even in senior management which didn't go well.

    Advice to Management

Stop being so bloodthirsty, understand the market more, don't be so materialistically money driven and forget about the wellbeing of your staff.

    Pros

Was a strong brand, some great people, investment in initiatives such as equality and environment.

    Cons

All of the brothers minus the CEO! The family imploded and so did the company. People promoted to directors who didn't deserve it and were not capable or professional. We lost some great back office people (contracts, marketing and finance) and seemed to hang on to the wrong ones or replaced them with worse. People were playing at recruitment. Took their eye off what they were good at and put faith in the wrong people. Children doing a grown-ups work. A shell of it's former glory. Such a shame.

    Advice to Management

Resign and/or bring in people who know what they are doing. On the face(book) of it, everything looks nice and shiny, but everything has gone downhill. You have no strategy. Get in outside help for crying out loud.
