    Negative Outlook

I have been working at Cliftons full-time

    Pros

Some good people on the ground, good level of access to middle management most of the time, great clients and can meet lots of people depending on which area you work.

    Cons

No real strategy, lots of bouncing between directions and goals based apparently on the whims or financial needs of the owner. Board and senior management group is a boys club many of which have "returned" after trying their luck unsuccessfully elsewhere.

Lack of funds for improvements like IT or training.

    Advice to Management

Share the direction better and stick to a long term plan. Being agile isn't always a good thing. Stop re hiring old employees.

    Pros

Great locations and footprint. Lots of potential to improve. The staff are committed to success when given the right direction, support and leadership.

    Cons

Extremely high turnover is a major issue. Only 1 out of 5 staff have been at the company for more than year. Churn is huge. Mostly due to lack of senior management leadership and support. There is a cut corners attitude when pressure is on causing stress to all. Even the senior management can't seem to stick around for more than a year at a time.

    Advice to Management

Focus on reasons for people leaving the company and take responsibility for sometimes bad decisions. The business has great potential with lots of talent, but they end up walking. There is direct impact to the costs when staff come and go, but this is not measured so not treated with care. Pay attention to the greatest assets; the people, not the training facilities!

    Pros

Decent pay. Good location and good service offering.

    Cons

Management is opaque. Do not provide guidance, just orders. Not able to get involved in decision making. Still run by original owner who is distracted by other business pursuits and failed to invest in the growth of the company.

    Advice to Management

Be more inclusive to staff you wish to keep. Be more open to their feedback. Take advantages of opportunities to grow regionally or your relevance as an organization will quickly ebb.
