    I worked at Codonics full-time

    Pros

Codonics has collected a very talented group of people that are fun to work with and bring a lot more to the table than their titles suggest.

    Cons

Be prepared for critical thinking. It can come across aggressively, but it is really because the "lifers" have their whole career vested in the business.

    Advice to Management

Keep looking for new products and encourage the team to work together a bit more. Spend time with the team at the monthly lunches.

I worked at Codonics full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Discover how a medical device company works from the inside. Learn about regulation compliance for class 2 devices. If you are in sales, learn about the device industry market and how to sell a particular kind of sizzle. Make connections with talented co-workers and with better companies. Codonics actually has a good intern program.

    Cons

The company's mainstay products are rapidly becoming obsolete. Very little innovation since the nineties. There is pervasive fear-based management across the company. The lifers at the top are ignorant of modern-day business etiquette, so prepare for rudeness and closed-mindedness. There will not be much chance of professional growth or advancement beyond where you start.

    Advice to Management

Stop fighting and power-grubbing at the top levels. You are killing morale and you have no idea how clownish you appear. Recognize talent with more respect and better pay. Politely request that the owner become less involved with company. Prepare for the company to be sold.

    Pros

Good people in the trenches that work hard

    Cons

Very political environment filled with executives who are "lifers" with little to no experience outside their years at Codonics. Management leads by fear, uncertainty and doubt and the owner/CEO is widely ridiculed by most as a result. Shady international business practices.

    Pros

Excellent company, employees and product support

    Cons

The last sales team was let go due to change in Management; not our historical success with the Company.

    Advice to Management

I am sure that our release, as the Sales Group, was a one time occurrence. I would return tomorrow to Codonics if there was a sales position in the Southeast available.
