I worked at Collibra full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Excellent product, generally great people. Strong past growth, and continued expectations. They give positive feedback when you do extraordinary work.

    Cons

Beware of leaving a position to work here, they hire and fire quickly. Because you will be overworked, you will not meet expectations for changing and implementing new capabilities. Pre-Sales role is expected to be only factor in determining if PoC prospect buys software, not price or sales set-up. Sales reps who do not qualify/properly set-up PoC, then drop it on different SE will cause SE to go.

    Advice to Management

Take time hiring people, and if you don't like performance, cheaper for you in long run to help employee and keep them.

I have been working at Collibra full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Collibra is the market leader in data governance technology. You are continuously encouraged to come up with ideas and discuss them even with C-level management. C-level management is blended in the teams and highly accessible with the open door policy.

    Cons

Collibra is going through some growing pain like any fast-growing startup.

    Advice to Management

    keep going, keep growing

I worked at Collibra full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Competitive salary, reasonable commission plan.

    Cons

Inexperienced, condescending, and secretive owners and managers. Collibra expects employees to work at least 60+ hours a week and lists overtime expectations in their employee handbook.

Hire and fire staff posthaste, no structured employee training, development, or remediation plans. Think twice before leaving your job to join this unstable, untrained, and overworked company.

Sales execs are given or denied sales opportunities based on favortism not territory.
Training is not structured, Collibra provides no mentoring or employee onboarding plan.

European managers focus solely on revenue; Gen Y management will sell this operation so insist on options if you decide to join.

    Advice to Management

Grow your managerial skills and train your staff and customers properly. Treat staff with respect and stop overworking them.

Create a successful worforce versus a silo of individual participants.

I have been working at Collibra full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The product is the best software in its category on the market today. The management team is stellar in terms of brain power as well as commitment to the success of the company and all of its employees. Rapid growth allows for lots of opportunities. The people are genuine, sincere, hardworking and good at what they do. Everyone is working together to build a strong presence in the U.S. with the goal of being a top company to work for in NYC!
CAVEAT - I work in recruiting so I am biased to Collibra being a great place to work!

    Cons

More of challenges than "cons": rapid growth requires everyone to move quickly right now, but also need to build a foundation for long-term success. Fairly new to the employer scene in NYC. Still building an awesome culture, great work space, etc.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the good work. You've baked a cake with the best quality ingredients. Continue to have transparency in your relationships with clients, partners and employees and sharing the Collibra mission.

I have been working at Collibra full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Everyone seems really nice and eager to help, when you can get them to sit and discuss something.

    Cons

Management is so focused on future revenue and not current state of affairs, hiring at a rapid pace, seemingly without solid, structured plans for people, particularly in the sales area. No real training provided for sales people. I have heard the culture was a bit different in the past, now it seems almost robotic.

Collibra has a strong growth strategy that has paid off and they are, and will continue to be, a leader in the Data Governance Enablement market.

Super innovative company, leading the market. Be ready to be a team player and bring your get-it-done mentality. Nobody can hide in this place, you either contribute and surf the wave, or you will leave...

    Cons

High growth companies like Collibra can come with growing pains. You too will feel this. What did you expect? :)

I have been working at Collibra full-time

    Pros

    - Company is led by some of the most strategic and intelligent people I've worked with, particularly their new management (CFO, CRO, CPO, CMO), although the original founders are equally pleasurable to work with and accessible. I've learned more from them in a few months than I would have in any other company
    - The majority of the co-workers are incredibly dedicated to the mission and are a pleasure to work with.
    - The technology is second to none, it will be that way for the foreseeable future. I'm excited to see what phase 2 of market dominance will look like.

    Cons

    - The company is in transition with new leadership. As such, some of the undesirable elements from the previous culture is still around. The elements of toxic/negative/exclusionary/targeting subcultures exist but seem to be isolated to a few individuals and teams for now, primarily Sales Ops.
    - The company is becoming more global. More activity than connect US to non-US employees would great, and the knowledge share could help boost productivity.

    Advice to Management

Don't underestimate the impact a few bad apples could have on a company's culture and productivity. Get visibility on where those negative elements are and correct the course appropriately.
