I have been working at Columbia Machine full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Good benefits, strong finances, family-owned, broad market.

    Cons

Some immature and unfit supervisors / managers cause internal conflict between employees and depts. Upper Management does not seem to understand the nature of a highly engineered and broad product line. Little is done to develop employees.

    Advice to Management

Get a grip on the impact of department conflict is having on the performance of the company. Dont be afraid to invest on employee development. Dont be afraid to put aside those supervisors / managers who care most abiut their reputation and nit those under their leadership. Understand tge challenge of a high mix low volume product line abd dont blame your employees for the drawback that brings.
