    Great Leadership Team from the CEO down. HR is great to work with. They will spend time discussing career goals with you.

    Advice to Management

    Continue the focus on members and employees. Love where I work!

    Pros

    Good rates, products for members

    Cons

    Affirmative Action is so extensive, they hire Branch Managers who can't read, write or hold a sales meeting.
    -unqualified management
    -employee benefits are lowest concern
    -no growth opportunities
    -not a great internal network at all

    Advice to Management

    Value your employees and stop hiring by affirmative action. You are losing tons of money by hiring ignorant folks using this method.

    Great company core values that are practiced from top to bottom throughout credit union.

    Some areas/policies are too grey. Need more black and white.

    I have been working at Community First Credit Union full-time

    Pros

    The company has great leadership throughout the credit union and the company values are idealistic. They truly care about helping members improve their financial situation and they don't push their employees to blindly push products sales. Room for advancement is available if you want it and the benefits are good. Employees are treated fairly and it isn't difficult to have genuinely great friendships with the colleagues you have here. As a peak member (floater), I think that management at all locations emulate great leadership and commitment to their team.

    Cons

    There are very few downsides to working at Community First. They have been able to shed a few sketchy managers in recent years that didn't fit in with the culture.

    Advice to Management

    Please keep the transparency and commitment to your employees. Working for C1st has been a huge part of my personal and professional development!

    I worked at Community First Credit Union (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Great company. The people really care for each other and their members. Easy transition into the new work place. The pay is reasonable.

    Cons

    There aren't many downsides of working here. It is just all around a really good place to work. From management down everyone cares!

    Pros

    Family feel. Get to the know upper management well. Everyone knows you by name. Great financial industry experience. They also provide good volunteer opportunities that are good for the whole family.

    Cons

    Smaller in size makes it difficult to continue progressing. If you work in a branch you have to work on Saturdays.

    I worked at Community First Credit Union full-time

    Pros

    Somehow with poor business practices, Community First has managed to have some exceptional staff that create a great team-work environment. Management is hard working and dedicated, despite having few resources and support from the executive team.

    Cons

    Pushing staff to continual limits, no appreciation for achieving goals (as they only go up after that), grueling work hours with an understaffed work force, and deceptive exectives who think of staff as a number and nothing more. Branch staff is supporting 6 full days a week of staffing needs, without the resources to manage this effectively.

    Advice to Management

    Replace the CEO, who came in to undermine everything this company stood for. Community First was a financial institution that prided itself on quality over quantity, and over time the organization has reversed that philosophy.
