    Pros

Good training very client oriented culture.lots of training, good benefits. Great when you have a good boss

    Cons

Pay could be higher, occasional mandatory overtime. The hours could be more flexible. More experience managers would help.

    Advice to Management

Management mostly cool. They could offer more opportunities for advancement . Need incentives for others outside of sales

    Pros

Opportunity for great first-hand technological experience.

    Cons

Management team espouses adolescent core values. Politics over the training and development of top candidates.

    Advice to Management

Whenever you have insecure and/ or backbiting managers, you run the risk of the top -- best and brightest, candidates being unethically removed from your team. Ultimately, in due time, the collective team unit suffers! Particularly, during arduous and difficult times.

I worked at CompUSA full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Thru trainings I made good contacts
They gave me my 1st paid job
I was able to work with individuals from all types of companies.
I enjoyed helping an older generation learning to use a computer (this was in the AOL days) and also helping admin assistants to gain further understanding of MS Office Suite

    Cons

    Poorly managed

Although I did not work primarily on the floor this was a retail location so I had to assist those who asked before making it to the back training rooms

    Advice to Management

Being in management would mean being able to manage whether it be the employer your emotions. I feel as though if your employees know you don't care then they will not care unless they have been taught better. In this case many of the individuals followed the manager and it was not a good look.

The liquidators didn't close the store they have a job like everyone else so to be disrespectful to these individuals was un-called for.

    I worked at CompUSA full-time

    Pros

If you're smart and have access to search openbox/remanufactured equipment, you can run across some good deals every now and then.
Nothing else though, really just a huge waste of time.

    Cons

    Everything.
Pay, Environment, Benefits, everything is ridiculously low or down right insulting.

The absolute worst part is the environment, just walk in to any store and talk with more than a few people, everyone hates their job, are looking for something else and management doesn't care. The negative attitude rolls down hill. Corporate treats their employees like slaves, DMs treat their stores the prisons, Managers treat their employees like dogs, etc.

    Advice to Management

Get a clue and stop listening to the same old corporate ideas and solutions. Think outside the box or just close your doors and stop wasting everyone's time.

Obviously you cant pay people a fair wage, you're in the retail market selling cheap stuff for horrible margins, however, that doesn't mean you cant treat your employees right. As long as you keep putting the $ before everything else, you'll keep spending more money on people and marketing to make up for the employees and customers that you've lost.
