I worked at Complex full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Fun culture, a lot of room to learn, and exciting events

    Cons

Pay is somewhat under industry standards, and after Verizon got involved, there was a massive amount of layover

    Advice to Management

Show employees that there is room for career growth as well as fair opportunities for raises.

I worked at Complex full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Company culture is ok
Cool projects from time to time

    Cons

    - Almost seems as though the company's business model is to hire young and ambitious talent, then squeezing all they can out of them until they quit while paying them under industry standards
    - No structure
    - Poor Management
    - Minimal investment in employees
    - Low team morale
    - Long hours of circling back and forth with no end in sight

    Advice to Management

    Invest in your employees

    Disapproves of CEO

I have been working at Complex full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Some of the people are fun & great to work with.

    Cons

A lot of people are lazy, and don't know the basics of production. No one gets bonuses or raises for years which makes many feel defeated throughout the company. HR doesn't understand production & takes forever to provide medical insurance info although you pay for coverage you're never given the cards or info to go to the doctor.

    Advice to Management

Find new jobs. The Verizon merger has killed the brand

I worked at Complex full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - Great culture, company happy hours every week
    - Fun atmosphere at work

    Cons

    - Very low pay, and average benefits (way below industry standard)
    - Very few opportunities to advance in career. The same people were getting promotions multiple times.
    - High employee churn, no incentives to keep good employees, so constantly only entry-level people.
    - Turning very corporate, more layers of management. Makes it hard to get thoughts past the first layer.

    Advice to Management

Higher salaries and better benefits to help retain employees.

Room for growth internally. Sink or swim environment forces you to learn the ropes quickly and acquire new skills and experiences faster than you would at other companies.

Crazy workloads, insane hours, too many roles assumed under one title with not enough pay. Heavy turn over and low team morale.

    Advice to Management

    Hire more team members

    Pros

Awesome coworkers and culture. Lot of flexibility.

    Cons

Management outside the department doesn't value the developers as much as they should. They have no clue how things are done or refuse to understand technology.

    Advice to Management

Don't pour all the money to one department. Think why people are leaving. Many of us are underpaid.
