I worked at Croda full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great opportunity! Great coworkers and housing offered. Overall a wonderful and interesting 2 year experience in the rotational program

    Cons

The rotations were based on company needs and not personal development. Must attend the three US sites (central PA location is hard to adapt to). Having to clock in and out is a little old-fashioned. Dress code policy needed updated.

I have been working at Croda full-time

    Pros

There is a good day to day work environment. Some of the benefits, particularly with regard to retirement, are actually quite good.

    Cons

The corporate structure can be confusing and changes frequently. There is limited opportunity for advancement.

    Advice to Management

Upper management should communicate better amongst themselves so that they can provide a clear and consistent message within the company.

I worked at Croda full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

OK benefits, just average. Can't think of anything else unless you enjoy being treated like dirt.

    Cons

There is no training in the accounting department. You will be expected to just know everything. The training is so poor and this company will make you feel horrible about yourself daily and they make it feel like torture. Also, don't ever complain about harassment if you do they will find a reason to fire you as they only care about those who have been there a very long time. Don't leave your job for this place you will regret it. Also, not a diverse place at all to work.

    Advice to Management

Follow the law and take harassment seriously. Actually have training for you new hires.

I have been working at Croda full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Users and Management are excellent. Everyone is pushed to do better but they actually do seem to care that you are trying to do better. Really enjoy working for a company where I feel valued.

    Cons

Infrastructure is a little old and dated and sometimes the lack of a level one help desk hurts productivity. A lot of the management decisions come from Europe so sometimes it makes the work more tedious then needed.

    Advice to Management

Keep working at it. I think it's moving in the right direction

I worked at Croda full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Good benefits, pretty good salary

    Cons

Stuck in the past, "we've always done it this way" mentality. My manager was too arrogant to consider any ideas but his own. Wants to control every step and every decision, but not be responsible. "lets have another meeting" should be their moto. No wonder things don't get done timely. Project Engineering, Process Engineering, Planning, Reliability Engineering and Human Resources are a revolving door, no one stays more than a year or so. There's a reason! Almost feels like that is how Managers justify their positions and try to keep their jobs, always recruiting and training another replacement.

    Advice to Management

Let experienced Engineers do their jobs or hire very inexperienced Engineers to just process the paperwork and run errands for Managers. Too cozy with the same contractors and engineering firms that are taking advantage. You want to save money? Shop around for other contractors! Safety issues are not handled urgently. Managers, in general, are too worried about keeping their jobs instead of doing their jobs.

    Pros

Good pay and benefits; great direction and coaching from direct managers and team members

    Cons

Lack of involvement in decision making process. Upper management commercial expectations and policies make it hard to do business

    Advice to Management

Upper management should engage with staff and adapt expectations to the various markets and not just focusing on expectations of the PC side
