I worked at Cytec full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Lots of good people there trying to do a good job for the company.

    Cons

After acquisition by this company, our former company was brought to its knees after being #1 in the marketplace for almost 40 years in a specialized industry.

    Advice to Management

Enjoy the rewards you gained (for those who reaped financial benefits) from the sale of your company. You failed to listen to people who wanted nothing more than to successfully assimilate in to your company. Instead you left a mess, walked away with your spoils and never looked back. Pitiful, sad, laughable.

I worked at Cytec full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Although every employee worked very hard, the environment was one of respect for the employees.

    Cons

Since it was such a well-run company, it was acquired by a larger firm, thus eliminating many long time employee's positions.

    Advice to Management

Hopefully the new 'parent' will embrace the respectful workplace that the remaining employees thrived under.
