    Pros

Overall, real good company. Compensation and bonus were average to above average. Manager was fair, honest, dependable, compassionate and committed. She always brought out the best in the team by listening and asking the right questions. She consistently challenged us to go to places we had never been before no matter how uncomfortable. She made us all better employees and stronger individuals.

I have been working at Cytec (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Employees are very friendly, courteous and great to work with. There is a great work-life balance.

    Cons

Due to outsourcing and cutbacks, the department turned into a bare bones skeleton crew. It was expected to wear the hats of 2 other people in addition to performing your daily roles. Promotions were dismal - Management doesn't push for their employees.

    Advice to Management

Don't be afraid to push for your employees

I have been working at Cytec (Less than a year)

    Pros

good pay for area and good people. smart working EE. and safety is good for the most part.

    Cons

long hours and bad management. They don't listen to there EE on issues. Them and engineers think they know how to run the machines but have never even worked on them. Most operators has been here 10 years plus but they engineers and management change documents and procedures without getting our (EE) input. They don't try to better it for everyone just them. THEY only want to fix something if someone gets hurt and most of the time they hide most accidents so they don't get in hot water over them.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your senior EE and all of them to get problems fixed. Come out on production floor and talk and get things solved.
