I have been working at DWF full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Work with a really nice team who are often unfortunately really unappreciated and treated like children. Nice location in Manchester City Centre.

    Cons

Where to start... Management is absolutely shocking, there are people who are 'managing' a team of paralegals as a Senior Paralegal with no legal qualifications! The managers treat the team like school children and it has a really toxic high school environment generating within the team, mostly due to management! Management have their select favourites and it says something when you can't even go to your line manager...

    Advice to Management

Try and stop treating young legal professionals like school children. Think about their careers and understand they want to progress- stop blocking progression for profit! Get rid of the "one rule for us and another rule for everyone else" attitude. You need to be complacent in what you preach- if you don't want members of the team turning up late then don't turn up late yourself!!! if you don't want people checking...

I have been working at DWF full-time for more than a year

    Pros

The bistro serves adequate food. Ty Jones is a lovely guy!

    Cons

There is limited progression. They are supposed to be "leading" the alternative route to qualifications yet put people down and deny them the chance to progress because that would mean they lose Paralegals. Absolutely rubbish wage, will pay you bare minimum and expect your everything. If you dont fit the "look" of DWF then you have no chance. Junior staff constantly moan about management and management can't keep any...

I have been working at DWF full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Have enjoyed working here - good work life balance, good client base and well led team

    Cons

Brought in at an attractive salary only to learn that those less qualified earn the same as me. Don’t think there appears to be much scope for pay increase from what I hear from colleagues in different teams.

    Advice to Management

Focus on ensuring good quality solicitors aren’t going to be lured elsewhere by more attractive salaries/benefits
