Pros

None worth mentioning. The company is well-established, but that brings no tangible benefit to employees.

Cons

No subsidized lunch, no breakfast (even though a sister concern, Food Edge, exists). No tissue boxes in the office – basic amenities missing. No Iftar party during Ramadan, no annual party, no annual trip. No provident fund, no gratuity, no annual leave encashment. They claim a “Loyalty Fund Award” (LFA), but you have to wait over 7 years to get it. Promotion is a daydream. Increments: max 5k after six months, then you wait 2+ years for the next. If your increment falls in January, you don’t get it until June. Extremely poor raises overall. The company does not value long-serving employees – staying 5–6 years is seen as a sign of being unqualified. Getting fired is common, like breakfast. Older and senior employees are frequent targets. Taking leave is treated as a crime. Seniors behave as if you’ve done something wrong. You have annual leave, but you can neither enjoy it nor get cash for it. For employees with 5+ years, you may have 30+ days of leave – but if you try to take it, you will likely lose your job. One senior manager was fired simply for taking two weeks of leave for a PMP exam. Your Manager expects you to be available on weekends and on your leave days — and still assigns work as if you're doing home office on regular working days.

Pros

- On time salary - Co-workers are friendly

Cons

Lack of Career Growth: - No relevant learning or growth opportunities. - Focus is only on SQL, with no exposure to coding or modern technologies. - No chance to work on new projects, frameworks, or cloud-based solutions. Outdated Technology Stack: - The company uses ASP.NET WebForms, an outdated technology. - No plans to upgrade to more modern solutions like .NET Core. - Limited exposure to new technologies and tools. Poor Compensation: - Starting salary is extremely low (around 20k) and increases very slowly. - The maximum annual increment is only 5k, regardless of seniority or performance. - No benefits like lunch or other perks provided. Unclear Role & Responsibilities: - Often assigned to multiple teams with no prior knowledge, leading to confusion and frustration. - Expected to handle documentation and Excel work instead of coding, especially if the manager deems you ineffective. - Limited opportunities to work on real software development tasks. Trainee-Focused Environment: - All employees are hired as trainees with little opportunity to progress. - The primary role is SQL-based tasks and client support, with no real software engineering experience gained. - Trainees are used for 24/7 client support with minimal training or resources. Unqualified Management: - Managers are incompetent, underqualified, and unable to manage the team effectively. - Lack of support or visibility for the team in front of higher management. - Managers misuse power without effectively leading or developing the team. Toxic Work Culture: - The team is full of incompetent individuals who lack knowledge of new technologies. - Seniors delegate tasks to juniors but avoid doing their own work. - There’s no collaboration or willingness to improve skills or upgrade technology. Limited Recognition & Support: - The software team is the most underutilized department in the company. - DataEdge is more focused on hardware and doesn't value the software team. - HR is ineffective and does not contribute positively to the work environment. Unprofessional Work Environment: - Formal attire is required for software engineers, which feels unnecessary and out of place. - No proper support or resources for professional development. - No facilities for employee relaxation (No snacks, no games etc)
