Pros

I’ve really enjoyed my time at Definely overall. It’s an agile, fast-moving company where you can see the impact of your work very quickly. The team is genuine and my colleagues are collaborative, supportive, and easy to work with. Leadership also stands out as people who care about both the product and the team, and there’s a clear sense that decisions are made with good intent. The pace is a big part of the appeal: things move quickly, and there’s a lot of opportunity to take ownership and shape your role.

Cons

The last year has come with some turbulence post Series B. Like many scaling companies, there’s been change and some teams have felt that more than others, which has at times created uncertainty. It’s also worth saying that this probably isn’t the right environment for someone who hasn’t worked in startups before. The ambiguity, pace, and expectation to adapt quickly can be quite a shock if you’re coming from a more structured or established organisation.

Pros

Having worked across a number of startups, it's genuinely refreshing to see a company that's actually getting the fundamentals right. Communication is mostly clear, goals are ambitious, and you can tell the leadership is trying to be intentional about culture. The people here are the real standout IMO smart, driven individuals who actually care about the work and each other. The team dynamic is collaborative rather than competitive (but healthy competition is encouraged) which makes a real difference day to day. Add in strong benefits that have recently been much improved, perks, and exciting work in a genuinely cool tech space, and it's a compelling place to be.

Cons

Some of the growth has come quicker than the growth in the supporting functions. It's not a negative but I would like to see those teams get some assistance. As someone based in the London office, I think an office manager wouldn't go amiss.

Pros

- The company has evolved post Series B, they finally got rid of the drifters. When I started there was a lot of people working really hard, and also a lot who were riding on coattails. Those who were let go made sense to me and people around me, the way things work work way better now. - I joined in the last year and it’s nice to see performance being managed, I saw someone say people have been let go after joining, it’s called a probation? I personally like it as it means you don’t have to worry about picking up slack and everyone around you is tip top. - the new tech management is strong and good guys

Cons

- I don’t have any yet, my colleagues are really good humans as well as super smart. Leadership seem to be attempting to communicate as openly as they can and that’s what i expect
