    Pros

We have taken great strides in improving our overall picking and packing. We have vastly improved in the daily direct ship to customers in a timely manner.

    Cons

Daily challenges as far as not knowing what our daily volume is going to be due to the fact that we take orders all day

I have been working at Diamond Comic full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Relaxed office environment. Has a lot of casual days. Set schedule with a lot of wiggle room.

    Cons

Cubicles with little to no communication or mingling between departments aside from email. You can email the same person nealy every day and have no idea that you just passed that in the hall.
Work is repetitive and can get boring sometimes.
    Pays too little.

    Advice to Management

If there is a standard general employees should be adhering to, dont like managers slide for not doing so.

I have been working at Diamond Comic full-time

    Pros

Fun industry, upper management (for the most part) is very nice and helpful, product discount

    Cons

Very poor salary, non-existent CEO, inexperienced co-workers who have had no training, web systems are outdated

    Advice to Management

Hire people (and pay them well too!) who are talented and driven first and then get them involved in the industry. Some employees seem more focused on their own personal comics-related projects than their work. Diamond should be able to attract top-tier employees, but they seem to refuse to update their mindset (and their pay scale) past the 90s'

I worked at Diamond Comic full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    - product discount
    - co-workers, for the most part, are great
    - fun nature of product
    - travel
    - interaction with retailer accounts

    Cons

    - poor pay for most workers
    - negative company culture
    - unbalanced workloads to lower level staff
    - old-fashioned website systems and resistance to update/modernize
    - transparent CEO
    - petty rules regarding clothing, hair, snow days, etc.
    - little improvement in warehouses despite upgrades

    Advice to Management

Hire people that have a fire under them for comics culture and treat them well. Pay warehouse workers more. Pay everyone that isn't upper management more. Don't keep employees in the dark regarding the status of the industry. Diamond is not as untouchable as it acts. Management acts as though there is a cool factor in working at Diamond that allows it to be demanding while still paying poorly, which is why fitting workers don't stick around. Update your website systems and be relevant.

Maybe Steve Geppi shouldn't give out toys modeled after himself as a company anniversary gift...

I worked at Diamond Comic full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great discount, and you get tons of free stuff. Products are very interesting and fun!

    Cons

Never ending problems with the warehouses, especially Olive Branch.
You will battle backorders. Every Tuesday and Wednesday is a nightmare! Very high volumes of accounts calling/emailing their shortages and damages. Marvel is a nightmare to work with. They require crazy requirements to get books, and customers get very upset/angry about it.
Hard to move up in company unless you’re a favorite.

    Advice to Management

Find the best employees possible for Olive Branch. Otherwise that warehouse will never change. Tell Marvel to hire a customer service team to handle questions regarding variant qualifiers, a hotline even. Too many of your own workers are stressed out about this Publisher’s products. Ditch the weight reports, or at least cut the shortages and do the report later. You don’t trust your accounts, yet you are the ones shorting them on a weekly basis. That’s terrible!
My final advice is to treat your CS employees better. You give the reps way too much work! It’s overwhelming and extremely stressful at times, even for a seasoned employee. Way too many people come and go. Something big needs to change in your CS dept, possibly management.
