I worked at Digitas full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Amazing Team, Coffee Bar, Good Location, Bike Storage

    Cons

It's a big agency. Many creatives work on only one client.

    Pros

Awesome benefits. Maternity leave is great! 12 weeks fully paid.

We receive $100 a year on health and wellness and get perks for every year we are with the company. We have workouts twice a week, yoga, meditation, holiday parties and tons of discounts. The company is super progressive and respects everyone.

    Cons

    The politics are super intense.

    Advice to Management

Keep encouraging the talented team members with pay and recognition so you don’t lose those valuable people.

    Pros

You get to work on a variety of projects

    Cons

If you're looking to get work into your book, don't come here. I've worked here for over three years and only have 2 projects to show for it. And way too many cooks in the kitchen--waters down the work.

    Cons

departments work very separately, not a lot of room for creativity

I worked at Digitas full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Lots of young people. Agencies are generally fun and creative environments. Lots of smart, motivated people. Opportunities to learn a lot.

    Cons

Margin is everything. Lots of turnover. Compensation is not very competitive. There is no bench so staffing teams is a NIGHTMARE. Core business is eroding but future offerings (e.g. PPC) are still smoke and mirrors. Varied opportunities - make sure you advocate for yourself!

    Advice to Management

On a conscious or unconscious level, people get it: this is not a growth oriented company, or an organization that pursues excellence. Margin comes first, everything else is second: growing existing accounts, winning new business, developing and retaining people, functional work spaces. Sooner or later it becomes unsustainable for the employees and the clients to grow while maintaining industry-high margins.

I have been working at Digitas (More than a year)

    Pros

Views, bagels, coffee bar, bike room downstairs

    Cons

I fee like a cell on a spreadsheet. Not a human being. My “value” is determined by the volume of work I can produce, as fast as possible, with the least resistance to account management or the client. Any suggestion I’ve made to improve the creative has been viewed as “attitude”. I’m not even equipped to do my job properly. They’ve taken away monitors for art directors in our neighborhood and there’s a 2 year waiting list for a new laptop. I’ve had 4 bosses in less than 2 years and all 4 of them have refused to give me a performance review even though I’ve done my part with our “review system”. If digitas doesn’t make performance reviews mandatory, then how can I possibly know how I’m doing if my managers refuse to use our “one to one tool”.

    Advice to Management

Stop sugarcoating the office. Make real adjustments. Pay attention to your employees. Care about them. Do not make performance reviews “voluntarily” with an outdated application. Encourage growth. Encourage working on more than one client. Do not tell us we can sit anywhere, and then also tell us we have to sit in one area of the building
