    Pros

    Meeting new customers everyday, not the same day twice, discounted direct tv .

    Cons

    No balance between work/home life , scorecard means more then your job , repeat service calls for to many reasons not caused by tech but still a negative to your scorecard , no help with scorecard from management, get wrote up for low score and wait to be fired. Very very high turn over on techs .

    Advice to Management

    Learn to have some respect for techs , care about workers that actually are trying to do their best instead of watching them fail and talk about them when their not around

    I worked at DirectSat USA (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    Plenty of work, half of it is unpaid drive time due to uncaring management

    Cons

    Unable to manage routes, unpaid drive time doubled because of poor routing, unpaid labor, buy your own tools ...specifically the set they claim to provide when you start is $500 deducted from paycheck, currently being sued by techs for unppaid wages on a case by case, already lost major group lawsuit for unpaid wages. Abusing legal system...buying new fleet of trucks(I believe 10,000 not sure, it was huge) than file bankruptcy in order to evade paying for the new fleet and lawsuits!

    Advice to Management

    Better manage tech routes so they stay in their zones, rather than sit in office laughing about how you would rather abuse your workers than do your job!

    Discount Directv. No really, that's all

    Cons

    Absolutely no incentive to be promoted. Get promoted, loose pay and possibly your job.

    Advice to Management

    Give employees incentive for wanting to advance in your horribly run company. Who wants a promotion and get less pay? Not this employee.

    Pros

    There are a lot of pros to working for DirectSat. You get a discount on your DIRECTV television service, you get 2 weeks paid vacation, a company vehicle, a company fuel card, a company smart phone, all the tools you need to have are sold to you at a significant discount, you get a discount on Red Wing boots, 3 sick days annually, health, vision, dental, and long and short term disability (if you qualify).

    Cons

    Do you like getting up at 6 am 6 days a week to see where you first job is? Does potentially having to drive 60-90 minutes to get to your first job sound awesome? Do you like not knowing if you'll be done at 4, 6, 9, or 10pm everyday excite you? Do you love it when your supervisor cusses you out in front of the entire office? If you love these things, you'll love working at DirectSat!

    Advice to Management

    Get rid of crap supervisors, General Managers, and lazy staff who think it is appropriate business etiquette to curse out your employees and tell people they will never amount to anything.

    I have been working at DirectSat USA full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    The main thing is that you have an infinite amount of ways to make money at this company do you get paid for pretty much every little thing you do they also have good benefits medical dental vision short long term disability PTO and bonuses depending on how long you been with the company

    Cons

    Some of the cons are how you get your raise they do it by every 3 months I think it should be at least 6 months plus they're always changing up the scorecard I understand I do it to keep you on your toes but sometimes it's just too much some of the other contract they have out with other companies don't really pay as well and most of the time its a waste of the techs time also there's no kind of pension plan they do have a 401k which I do invest in but depending on the state the company is in sometimes they match $0.50 on the dollar up to 3% and sometimes they don't

    Advice to Management

    Just think you need to put some kind of system in place for your long-term technicians specially the one who's been there over 10 years specially for this kind of job it really wears on your body after a while other than that you're doing a good job and i enjoy where I work

    Good checks free dtv new people every day no shadow from supervisor and it's great

    Cons

    Promotions are fixed people look at you different when you succeed it's an annoying feature

    Pros

    Pay is good if you can stay at a level 3 or 4 as a technician,,,a hard task within itself considering the fudging of score card numbers in their favor

    Cons

    The scorecard is completely altered so that they keep you at a level 1 instead of making the real money at higher levels 3 or 4.

     They rate you based on a matrix that is completely out of your hands. Customer survey is about 40%. Requires 10 good surveys to cancel 1. Meaning you have 1 person that is unsatisfied or confused you are at 0. Repeat service calls are always you fault and take points away If you do everything you can control and have a major storm come through and it takes awhile to fix all systems you lose major points and end up fired.

    Advice to Management

    Totally revamp the scoring system and remove issues on the scorecard that are out of the technicians hands,,people will be nice to you while your day and then give you a bad rating on the phone because of a customer service issue

    You have the potential to make a lot of money.

    Cons

    Long drive times, long days and only Sunday off. The score card is too complicated.

    Advice to Management

    Listen to your techs and simplify the score card.
