I have been working at EDSI full-time

    Pros

Work supports US troops in the field. That is best thing I like about this job and its importance. There is no better feeling.

    Cons

Government staff treats contractors with no respect at all. Poor communication between EDSI management and government staff results in mixed messages of what is required of contractors

    Advice to Management

You need to provide more opportunities to advance to other positons. At present, there is no opportunity. This results in poor morale overall

I have been working at EDSI full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The communication with my Co works is very good. Being able to help get people on the right track with life and work towards achieving their goals.

    Cons

I wish we had more resources with different jurisdictions like Washington D.C. to become vendors with different programs and classes that they offer.

    Advice to Management

Hire more people that are passionate about the work we do like some of our interns that work hard. Also try to partner up with different vendors and jurisdictions to help expand resources.

I have been working at EDSI full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

You will meet some really good people who work in this organization and will be expose to several other contracting agencies, as well as government agancies.

    Cons

No sense of leadership, mangement often keeps employes in the dark when it comes to important information and training. There is no room for growth personally or professionally, several complains from the employess are more than not ignored, or go on with no resolution this includes serious harrasment complaints. When employess seek help regarding procedures you will get condensending replies and your questions will go unanswer. When other employess leave their former duties are passed down to other employess (sometimes you will have one person doing 3 other people's jobs plus thier own) without any additional compesation, this is in addition to their salay ranges posted in this site, I'm a program analyst and i make well under 48,000 per year so i don't know where they got their range for program analyst to be 59k, is around 22.00 per hour.

    Advice to Management

Start caring about your employees, they are the ones who got you where you are today. Offer training so the employees are not going into projects blinded and with no sense of direction in front of the customer. Stop expecting your employess to be loyal and be outstanding at their jobs without the necessary tools to suceed from a company.

I worked at EDSI full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Very likeable and intelligent co-workers.

    Cons

Has a tough budget to meet and due to govt contractor cutbacks, they do not have the manpower to meet their production requirements.

    Advice to Management

Don't oversell your capabilities. Keep it simple and continue to do outstanding work.
