Pros

Many young people Good mentors

Cons

You get paid a stipend of R10000 and told that your work will become your Masters. This is not entirely true because the contract does not stipulate that you may not work on your degree during work hours. Also, after you sign the study bursary, you are informed that you must work 40 hours a week.

Pros

The company helped me get my Masters degree and hopefully my PhD/MBA too. The company has an "integrated" academics component where you can do your postgraduate degree through them. Your options are limited to NWU and Stellenbosch though.

Cons

It's hard work. Working and studying simultaneously is hard and while I was allowed to implement my Masters project during work hours, I had to write everything up after hours. The company also does a lot of work for the mines and industrial facilities so you have to be ready to travel.
