Pros

Cutting edge grassroots organizing technology tools, resources for polling and travel, plus the motivation to make the world better for all AARP eligible individuals and those who are getting there.

Cons

AARP is a 24/7 organization so it is difficult to find a work/life balance. Promotions generally no longer come from within the staff so there is little opportunity to advance if you are in the field.

Pros

I was able to take on multiple responsibilities, like research and volunteer engagement, with consideration of my time and workload from school.

Cons

At times, I felt like my work wasn’t as important or could’ve been done by my supervisors, especially when projects were close to completion, they would be altered but I understand it was for time efficiency.
