Pros

The team that I worked with was full of friendly employees that came to work and wanted to work hard and do a great job. Work-life balance was good and lots of good work could have potentially been done. Camaraderie was high amongst staff.

Cons

Bad managers did their best to divide and conquer the staff to ensure no challenges. Employees were kept in a state of constant fear that there would be reprisals for speaking ones mind, even if it was in the best interest of AARP as an organization as a whole. This problem of insufferable management was known to exist by the C-suite, but nothing was done to rectify situation unless the problem became untenable.

Pros

I was able to take on multiple responsibilities, like research and volunteer engagement, with consideration of my time and workload from school.

Cons

At times, I felt like my work wasn’t as important or could’ve been done by my supervisors, especially when projects were close to completion, they would be altered but I understand it was for time efficiency.
