Pros

Work/life balance (depending on your manager), cafe in the building, location.

Cons

The whole "telephone" game of communication - C-level tells SVP, SVP tells VPs, VP talks to Director, Director tells Manager, Manager tells Analyst...it slows down the process of actually getting the work done and causes disconnects. The amount of meetings held at AARP is more than I've seen at any previous employer - when are we supposed to actually do the work??

Pros

I was able to take on multiple responsibilities, like research and volunteer engagement, with consideration of my time and workload from school.

Cons

At times, I felt like my work wasn’t as important or could’ve been done by my supervisors, especially when projects were close to completion, they would be altered but I understand it was for time efficiency.
