Pros

Pay is average/above industry standard. Benefits are average/above industry standard. You can hide behind other's work and look competent/useful by doing nothing.

Cons

Others will claim merits for your work and try to look competent/useful by doing nothing. This attitude is facilitated by the employee management culture in engineering. Engineering direction is going to substantially weaken/kill the company over the next 5-10 years. Fleet of incompetent engineers and consultants are hired with false promises, have management drink their Kool aid, steal the money and leave. Management is forcing some unrealistic engineering dogma upon its best engineering, tanking the company slowly with each unsuccessful attempt to do the slightest increments to release new products. They won't accept feedback from the knowledge owners of their most successful products, and will therefore lose their greatest assets over time. Unagreeable and incompetent management heads are going to fall in the next 2-5 years... Which, in the end, will significantly impact the customers : buggy/rushed agricultural machines, slow support, higher costs for simpler maintenance, etc
