Pros

Good Pay, Good benefits, Free Coffee.

Cons

You are hired as an inventory technician then you end up processing tissue from newly past away tissue donors - meaning muscle and bone stripped of the skin in plastic bags that often leak. If blood and tissue gross you out - stay away. You are also told they promote and hire from within which is just not true. You are trained by coworkers who don't want you to be better than them so you have to figure out the software for yourself. This place was the worst job I ever had. glad I left.

Our inventory technicians do not process tissue donors, rather they receive tissue or move tissue to specific locations. Working in tissue processing can be physically demanding and we are clear with potential applicants about what the job entails. Due to the nature of our work, employees in certain roles (like tissue processing) are exposed to human tissue. We are proud that we promote from within for many, but not all roles. Many of our current Directors and Vice Presidents started in frontline positions and have been promoted due to their dedication to our mission and excellence in terms of what they accomplish in their day-to-day work in addition to the behaviors they model. We appreciate the work you did for us and wish you the best.

Pros

3 day weekend and sick time

Cons

The recent views don't truly knows what goes on in Operations, Let me break it down to save you time so you know. Turnover rate is very high. Your supervisor does not know the process of your job and does absolutely nothing. They hire anyone that has a pulse so please take your educational experience then LEAVE ASAP. Some Co-workers had major anger and harassment problems, There are some Co-workers that are cool, they help you survive and have a good laugh. They may take overtime away. They may make you leave early. They would increase production rate BUT equipment is broken from night/weekend shift so you cant do your job. But still get blame! Your Supervisor just sit in his office to go to his meeting(getting donuts/coffee/Sport bets). You are gown all day so you wont have access to water and bathroom. Got anxiety? Breathing problems under stress? Get headaches and dizziness when tired? Get sweaty easy? You will not have a good time. If you only need experience take it and continue looking. Take advantage of the three day weekend and don't get to comfortable.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We would like to address several of the concerns you expressed. We have a robust hiring process for our Tissue Processing Technician role including a phone screen, onsite tour/job immersion, and interview. Working in a cleanroom setting can be physically demanding and we are clear with potential applicants about what the job entails. We are always trying to increase our supervisor’s capability and team engagement. We conduct annual engagement surveys and encourage our employees to have an open dialogue with their managers about concerns. We also have an open-door policy, HR support, and the AlloSource hotline available to report concerns that the company can address. Our turnover rate is below industry standard, and we are proud of that. We appreciate the work you did for us and wish you the best in your future endeavors.
