Pros

Nice office space, some decent (but intimidated) people

Cons

If you want to retain a decent state of mental health I would be very cautious about accepting a role here. Also if you identify as anything other than ‘he’ or ‘she’- please don’t apply you won’t be accepted. John is patronising, intimidating and has no interest in anyone’s ideas. There is no point in coming to the business with any experience it’s not what they want. They might as well employ robots and click upload into your brain as you exit the lift onto the floor. It’s Mortimer’s way and his way only. Staff turnover is out of control. People leave as soon as they can find another job, and if you’re fired don’t expect to get paid notice - John doesn’t mind a legal battle, he’ll fight you to the death if you have the energy to fight for your rights or try to defend yourself. What’s legal doesn’t matter to him, Don’t be fooled by people with titles there that would imply they can make decisions or have influence - they have no influence at all. Please read through Glassdoor, please take it seriously.

Pros

-Meet some good people I worked with. - My bad experience of working there taught me great life lessons and prompted me to take risks and do things I enjoy doing

Cons

- I was hired to help push the company towards modernising itself to appeal to the digital age we live in. Most of my thoughts and ideas were mostly ignored and then I was asked to do things that we not initially in my job description. - Blame culture: At points, I was expected to do things that were not in my job description, and it was frowned upon when I objected to do things I wasn't comfortable doing. It's almost as though they want to extract everything out of you, and have the mentality that if you don't work extra hours, they will replace you with someone who is desperate for work. - When I worked there, I saw many people come and go within 6 months... retention of the workforce is poor, and that is reflective in the environment. - Most people who worked there seemed to be stressed and close to breaking point....not a good environment for productivity. My advice to anyone who decides to work there is to look for options elsewhere too...unless they have drastically changed their culture, I'd steer clear of the place if you want to love the job you do. I have nothing against the company, just speaking truthfully on my experience of the place.
