Pros

Good products, Pays more than most telecom sales jobs, but less than any other medical device and most pharmaceutical jobs. Tough culture to deal with that treats their sales reps as numbers, not people. Overall, my two years at Applied gave my resume the boost it needed to get my job with CR Bard. Thanks for treating me badly enough, only reimbursing minimal expenses and overall crappy pay, since it motivated me to get a much better job.

Cons

Crappy pay, crappy benefits, micromanaging and roommates at every meeting. Don't respect the sales team.

Pros

Lots of opportunities for growth and exposure to all varieties of the medical device lifecycle. Vertical integration is truly special for this and you will become a better engineer at this company. Overall positive culture, I have a friendly relationship with my management and I've enjoyed working with virtually all my peers.

Cons

Pay is lower than market average and you will need to put in more than what you'll get. There is also ambiguity on the metrics management assesses team member growth for promotions or pay increases. Work/life balance can get rough particularly in R&D depending on the project.
