Pros
Equal parental leave. Decent holiday. That’s it.
Cons
CEO only interested in London. Staff asked all throughout the pandemic what they would like to do going forward. Over 80% staff wanted home working so they ignored that and ordered all staff back into offices 3 days a week. They had closed numerous offices and now expect low paid staff to commute over an hour a day to an office they don’t want to be in. Consistently gaslight employees by flooding internal comms and LinkedIn with posts about how fantastic the office is, but ignore staff having panic attacks about unnecessarily going in and infecting their vulnerable relatives (or themselves!) CEO didn’t like the office being empty so demanded everyone went back. Waxes lyrical about the benefits of collaboration but wants people sat in an overcrowded office talking to the people on Teams in other parts of the country. London office is totally different to regional offices and if you want any kind of opportunity, forget living outside it. They waste talent, jobs go to who you are friends with. CEO went out and told the media how much they care about their staff, but it’s all lies. Behind closed doors, she told them all to get back to work and stop complaining about having lives outside of it. People in the HR function don’t want to be in the office but they aren’t even allowed to tell people they feel that way. Diversity and inclusion is a joke. Disabled and vulnerable people are frightened to come into the office and they’re told they have to with no exceptions. I hope no one dies because of this, although I believe that people already have.
