Mass layoffs of sales force. Unethically run workplace. Pass this one up. - Account Executive Avvo Employee Review

I hesitate to dignify this with a response, but it needs a little fact-checking. We have never done a layoff at Avvo and hope that we will never need to. We continue to hire across the company, including Account Executives for our Sales team. While our Account Executive team is smaller than a year ago, this is mostly because many in Sales asked us make it so. One public example of this is the various Glassdoor reviews from 2015 begging management to stop hiring sales people and “clean house.” We also moved many AE’s to a new Attorney Advocate Team and the account management team. Our goal in all of these changes is to have the right people interacting with lawyers at the right time (rather than an army calling all the same people), which means a right-sized Sales team that we take the time to train and retain. We want to hire and retain the best, so that everyone goes home with a meaningful paycheck. You might disagree with our tactics, but that is our intention – and my sense is that we are on the right track. Mark Britton Avvo, CEO
