Pros

Pay rates are very competitive, and tend to be slightly higher than other service field employers. (Though keep in mind, this is still the service industry so don't set your expectations too high). Most job descriptions and expectations tend to be reasonable and I have observed a lot of mobility within the company (Did you move and need to work closer to your new place? They'll usually work with you. Want to challenge yourself in a new department or position, as long as your attendance and performance have been good they will give you a shot). Benefits are pretty reasonable both in price and what it covers - if you can get qualified to be offered them. They include Medical, Dental, Life Insurance, and Paid Time Off. They say they do not have vision coverage, but they do have a discount plan with select providers if you sign up for medical coverage. In general, finding a provider can be difficult but rates tend to be pretty reasonable. High level managers tend to be EXCEPTIONAL! Every higher level manager I've interacted with (From store managers to overhead management) have been exceptionally professional, clear in their communication, personable, and respectable in the way they treat their managers as well as lower level staff. Always went out of their way to make employees feel valued and welcome. Even the Bashas family have always been professional and personable in their interactions with myself and other staff of all levels. Many low level managers are very flexible with schedule needs and considerate of a work/life balance. Many locations and departments tend to be very welcoming of feedback and open to the concerns and suggestions at all levels of employment. They do have an "open door policy" that I have seen eventually be effective in even oppressive departments.

Cons

Wild swings in quality at low level management. I have known managers that are amazing, and I have known some that would make me walk away from the business rather than work for the individual. Some departments within the same store can be run very smoothly, with great emphasis on ethics and leadership, while others are estranging both customers and staff. Some managers are downright immoral, dishonest, and childish; and 2nd chance policies - while laudable - can make it feel like it is impossible to address or change such practices. It can be VERY hard to get full time positions. Almost nobody gets fired from a full time positions (I've seen individuals written up for serious violations several times and still get priority on hours because of their "full time" status). I have even been told they are not allowed to hire or give out new full-time positions. I'm not sure if this is policy or just practiced by select managers. (As I mentioned before, some of the managers are incredibly shady - and from several conversations I had there was evidence that some of this was individual's way of manipulating their numbers to make their performance look better, not necessarily something encouraged by the company). Hours can be very unstable at "part time" status (which most employees are). One week you'll be scheduled six days, be asked to come in early and stay late and have overtime, the next you'll have to bully someone else out of a shift to get 20hrs. Strange inter-company emphasis about certain viewpoints. Can come off as cult-like in mentality and effort to push certain ideas onto their employees. Always struck me as relatively harmless (You don't have to OPENLY agree with their propaganda and often it won't be brought up other than inter-company publications, so it's not as bad as other companies I've worked for) but still subtly insulting to the intelligence and capability of their employees.

Pros

Managers, Coworkers family like, company vehicle, permanent fulltime position with good benefits and decent pay; not a contract or 3rd party like a lot of IT jobs tend to be. You don't necessarily need a lot of IT qualifications to do this job just be familiar with pos equipment and able to follow knowledge base instructions and able to troubleshoot.

Cons

A lot of driving and working in grocery stores equipment can get dirty so gloves and or washing hands will be needed.
