Pros

Great Pay Decent Location, still cheap to buy as long as you stay out of Port Elgin. Despite what others may say, management is pretty good. MCR in particular has a great team.

Cons

There are 4 classes of employees. A, B, C, and D. Class D are the folks who work for a vendor and they are treated like drones and paid poorly. Class C are direct contractors who have all the responsibilities of full time employees but no benefits (but are paid pretty well). Class B are the full time employees on MCR or other projects who actually make the plant run. They are paid well, but have to work hard and long. Class A are the do nothing folks who get paid full time but work maybe 25 hours a week (this is most everyone at B10 and full time trades at Bruce B and A). This system is not very fair for obvious reasons. It will take you 5-10 years to get from class D to class A. It may be worth it in the end but you will not feel respected through the process.

Pros

I am a professional engineer of a certain age who was frankly fed up with dysfunctional and toxic workplaces. I had turned down several other lucrative offers on that basis before BP came calling, but I was pleasantly surprised by what I found here. There has clearly been a lot of thought put into their organizational principles and practices, which help workers to produce their best. This extends to the physical comfort of the workspace, which is important for me. In summary, a very progressive management philosophy. The approach to safety is comprehensive. They support your specific training needs, in fact they insist on it!

Cons

None really. Some other reviewers here gripe about the weather (it's Canada) and the distance from Toronto (aka the centre of the universe). Probably The same ones who didn't want a nuclear PP built downtown I guess.
