Pros
If you are on the right team the IT department is a great place to work. There are tons of opportunity to grow and take on responsibility if you are driven.
Cons
Health benefits are lacking. Even if you go to a CHRISTUS facility you will have to pay too much out of pocket. By far the worst health benefits I have ever experienced as an employee. Annual increases are below inflation rate. You will lose money every year unless you get a promotion. Promotion is really the only method of gaining a significant pay raise. Bonuses are nearly nothing. However, you do get a small increase and small bonus every year even if they are tiny.
