Pros

- Casual dress - 8 hours a day, and that's it - Co-workers are nice and friendly (most of them), and they'll give you tips for your job search since they're looking, too - Nice location (near 360 and MoPac, lots of shopping centres nearby) - Food trucks because Google is across the way *hint hint* and orders them in

Cons

- Management is comprised of IT-only guys who still don't know anything about the projects they manage, and they see people as tools rather than human beings entitled to proper compensation - The bulk of responsibility is passed on to the team leads who don't make all that much more money than normal team members - One of the managers seems to have issues with female employees (passive-aggression, hostility) - Hardly any room for growth (team lead is the highest role one can achieve) since the company is structured like a temp agency. This is probably ideal if you have no motivation in life and don't care about having a decent job that can afford you nice things (a good chunk of people still work second jobs to make ends meet) - No overtime available, which is good for work-life balance but bad for employees who aren't paid enough - No in-house HR rep so harassment is an issue that's overlooked - They hire college graduates only but can't seem to get quality people anyway. They'll even take University of Phoenix graduates (really?) - No sick days, and vacation accrues at a rate of about 3 hours a month, so by December 31st, you get five. whole. days. off.

Pros

If you put in your share of the work, you’ll be OK. Positive points are given for the somewhat relaxed atmosphere, laissez-faire management style, and being able to browse the web. You’ll also meet many good people along the way.

Cons

Minimal praise and promotions are offered. Good feedback is recognized to a degree but not rewarded directly. The skills learned here are not easily transferred to applications elsewhere. There is little growth potential in this role and within the company.
