Pros

Caliber is a great place to get car industry experience. With locations in two states, and relationships with multiple insurance companies, the experience is varied. Caliber produces high quality work and is very customer oriented. They do whatever it takes to keep clients - both individuals and insurance companies - happy and get frequent repeat business. Their policy of doing no advertising ensures that every member of management is motivated to make every customer that walks through the door count. Caliber makes hiring top notch technicians a priority so the work that is being produces is always of the highest quality possible. They do not take shortcuts when making repairs.

Cons

Caliber's management is not particularly employee friendly. They are concerned about only the bottom line. Caliber puts a lot of effort into hiring high quality people, but then puts little to no effort into retaining them. In order to make good money technicians must be willing and able to work long hours and weekends. Salaried office staff are required to put in 10 plus hours a day and work rotating weekends; however, when they need to take time to run personal errands they are discouraged. Caliber's organizational structure ensures that nobody takes responsibility for their own actions, but most positions are often held responsible for things outside of their control. I was also witness to several instances of employees being made promises that were not kept; and appeared to be made solely to gain the cooperation of the employee.

Pros

Good insurance, good coworkers, close

Cons

Horrible work/life balance, don’t consistently make commission, no support from upper management. When you take vacation using your PPO you’ve earned, upper management complains. We never hear anything good, just the bad. Every day we’re threatened with working Saturday when we work 53 hours a week
