Pros
Cintas does pay well once you have been in your territory after 6 months or so. I made well over $100k my first year and looking at $125k my second. However, my success was based off me working myself around 55 to 60 hours a week with a only 1 vacation in two years. The product offering is really strong in the First Aid services and number of suppliers they can pull from. My service team and co workers were great people. The director and VP of the First Aid division were incredible as well. This job is a stepping stone for much better opportunities.
Cons
The culture at Cintas was very robotic. It was very odd especially for the industry and customer base. We were forced to wear a suit and tie for everything. Wearing clothes like that at lumber mills and manufacturing facilities was just weird. I would dress the “right” way for the office days and then change clothes before facing customers. We couldn’t have beards which wasn’t told to me until after I had been there a few weeks. The benefits were really terrible and designed to make you feel stuck. 401K program was a joke and I was lied to about it. I was told is was a 20% match which is unheard of it. I question it but was told that’s correct. Completely false. It’s 20% of the total you put in. So you have to put in 10% and they match 20% of your 10%. There’s no match for over 1 1/2 and then it’s pennies compared to basically any other major company. The vesting period is 5 years so the match doesn’t matter anything. The on boarding is the worse I’ve ever experienced in 15 years of sales and management. You don’t even go to “training/RBS” until after 6 months or so. Cintas doesn’t even invest in their people until they have already passed the trial by fire due to very high turnover of salespeople.
