Pros

The organization’s mission is great, in theory. The job itself provides was easy to navigate.

Cons

This is the most low tech, rigid, and change management averse organization I’ve ever worked in. It feels like everyone is still operating in 1995. My first day I was shocked by 1. How depressing the office was (with mandated work in office requirements) 2. How unwilling team members were to even use cloud sharing, teams messages, or any other technology normally used in a functional environment. Teams are siloed and mismanaged, with the head of the communication department one of the most difficult, snarky people I’ve ever worked with. Management is gossipy and everyone knows about each others shortcomings. Their “small but mighty” mentality fails them constantly, with complete failure to modernize and make the work environment a fulfilling space. Not to mention an organization that has ZERO diversity.

Pros

The organization has an important mission. Employees believe in it and try to help survivors. Employees are usually smart and dedicated. Work life balance is good with two days in the office. Jewish holidays are vacation days. Good health insurance.

Cons

Pay is on the lower end. Professional development and career opportunities are very limited. The organization will stop being relevant in a few years when survivors will pass away but no one explains to the employees what will happen to them. The CEO makes a million dollars a year but is never at the office. The COO thinks he knows everything but cannot figure out how to fix simple issues like the office doors or the AC instead he criticizes the CEO decisions behind his back. HR does not support the employees, it only cares about protecting the company. Office politics are getting in the way of fulfilling the mission. No diversity in management. Stay away!
