Pros

Relaxed working environment Working with and for the guests

Cons

Employees are expected to go above and beyond the call of duty, often times asked to do the work of 2-3 people, but owners/management do not recognize the effort of most and therefore moral is low. No overtime pay unless it is approved by management- often time first /second shift workers would come in late forcing the next shift worker to stay late --but we would not be compensated due to it not being "pre-approved". Management/Owner expect employees to keep low wages no matter their loyalty. Management hires (and even houses) illegal immigrants to do grunt work and to keep cost low.

Pros

The housekeeping supervisor is a great guy. Very personable and easy to talk to. He is also very dedicated to the job and sets the bar high for customer service.

Cons

The owners do not value their employees. Low wages and lack of tips make the position very discouraging. There are never enough sheet sets or towels to replenish the rooms and housekeepers end up hiding towels from each other just to get their job done. One dryer is down and the part to fix it has been sitting in the office for over a month. However, the owners could care less about sending someone to repair it. Meanwhile, we go hours waiting for towels and sheets to dry. What could possibly be a decent position is made more difficult by greedy, uncaring owners.
