Pros
There is plenty of learning opportunities and training available (When time permits). Fairly good work/life balance, and fully remote opportunities are good for the positions that allow for it. There is a variety of things going on to keep someone from being bored. Pay and Benefits are good, and you get quite a bit of PTO as well.
Cons
Current IT management is in state of flux, and is driven by their own self interest/ego. There are a lot of experienced employees with great skillsets, but they are not being involved in decision making process. The IT Organization as a whole is too Silo'd and teams work independently of each other, often times stepping on each others toes with projects/initiatives. Current project load is unstainable and often lacks forward thinking (IT is more reactive than proactive). The entire organization is in a state of flux after the State (Nebraska University system) has decided to take over sole governance of the Medical Center.
