Pros

Aside from free breakfast and lunch (at least at my location in Stamford) there is absolutely nothing else that could be considered a "pro" to working here.

Cons

Too many to list, but I will give it a shot. Bear in mind before you write this review off as coming from a disgruntled employee or "bad egg" that I have worked at Conair for some time. I get excellent reviews and am well regarded by my peers. First, senior leadership with very few exceptions represents the absolute worst that you could imagine. Favored employees are allowed to remain with the organization indefinitely, despite their skills and/or contributions having eroded a long time ago. Their incompetence and lack of professional demeanor is masked by the fact that they are NEVER TO BLAME for any shortcomings in the company's performance. It is always someone else. Most often, junior members of the team. There is no upward mobility based on merit. You receive promotions and raises at fairly specific intervals of time, more or less regardless of ability. An exception can be made if you are particularly favored by the CEO. Examples of that permeate through the organization. Let's put it this way... The favorites, for the most part, did not become that way for their workplace contributions. Sales meetings (if you want to call them that) and meetings in general are often abusive in nature. Marketing and sales associates are routinely called out in front of their peers for perceived failings. The statements that are often made wouldn't be appropriate in a high school locker room, much less a professional environment. It contributes to the fact that morale has reached a new low. Good people, with a long history of success at Conair, have left. More will follow...

Pros

You'll learn what not to do, and if you can survive this toxic and chaotic nuthouse any other job will be a breeze.

Cons

Incompetent leadership that constantly looks to outside agencies and vendors to tell them what to do. They spend astronomic sums of borrowed money on "experts" with ROI that falls way short. Again and again, big projects fail after a desperate rush off a cliff, with bloated teams undermining each other and faking competence. Company carries enormous debt and people in the trenches are under constant pressure to get anything, something to work in market. Upper management keeps trying to cut its way success. Lots of firing and hiring, with experienced people replaced with inexperienced people who can't jobs anywhere else.
