Pros

good pay for the area, lots of patient contact, flexible hours. Work as clinical coordinator and bedside nurse.

Cons

Staffing, staffing, and staffing. Continually cutting back. Lose a lot of hours dependent on census. Always work at least 2 staff members short per shift. Expect excellent HCAHPPS without the staff to make it happen.

Pros

Decent pay rates and large contract bonus.

Cons

This is hands down the most toxic work environment I’ve ever been in. Management is unprofessional, does not want to deal with complaints but will absolutely engage in the drama- only to perpetuate it. The work requirements are so much. You circulate in your rooms, do most of the turn overs, pick all of your cases for the next day, do a ton of stocking, respond of OBGYN emergencies too because the OB staff refuses to learn how to circulate a c-section (and that’s ok?) The staff that are long termers are miserable human beings, they actively work against you rather than orient you-it’s more fun to make the surgeons think you’re an idiot, everyone talks smack as soon as a person leaves the room. Teamwork and collaboration don’t exist, which isn’t great for patient outcomes. The manager thinks if there weren’t so many females maybe it would be better.
