Unreal Expectations - Yoga Teacher CorePower Yoga Employee Review

Pros

Students and co-workers are fantastic. The only reason I continue to work at CorePower. Excellent teacher training - it's an investment though.

Cons

Very, very low pay across the board. Corporate takes advantage of all of their studio staff, from studio managers, to SET employees. Every single person is underpaid. They charge big dollars for drop in classes and memberships, mat and towel rental, but pay just barely more than minimum wage. They expect teachers to teach classes in dirty studios because they don't have adequate cleaning staff to maintain the spaces. Instructors are required to work desk time at reduced pay and during that time we are expected to clean the class rooms, make sales, push teacher training, connect with students, plan class sequences, make play lists and incorporate class intentions as well as complete required training online. This is an unreal expectation, especially since students begin to arrive 30 minutes before class. We are paid a slightly higher rate to teach class then we must stay for 30 minutes at the reduced rate after class to clean the studio, connect with students and complete any other tasks that were not completed before start of class.
