Yoga Teacher - Yoga Instructor CorePower Yoga Employee Review

Pros

I made back my training costs pretty quickly, but this is not the case for everyone. Instructor discount is great, and you get free classes for a plus one as well. Made a lot of lasting relationships, great supportive environment for new teachers.

Cons

Pay is low comparatively (minimum wage for your first 30 classes, then 15/hour, no one really makes more than 20/hour). Managers well say things like, we don't teach for the money, but at the same point CorePower is profiting off that desire so I feel like they could take better care of teachers. It sometimes feels like a yoga factory. Management is really hit or miss depending on the studio but I did experience a lot of pettiness. Trainings are billed as a life changing journey when really you're just learning a sequence, so many people leave underwhelmed/disappointed.

Pros

Strong community and culture, benefits include mental health, lots of PTO, flexible schedule, lots of growth opportunities

Cons

managers are typically the scapegoats for problems both by SSC/corporate and the students/clientele, low salary compared to high stress environment, on call all the time, expected to teach 4 classes - lead teacher trainings - own all operations - coach/hire/lead massive team of teachers (40+) - membership sales - schedule opp in a 40hr work week (usually ends up being more).
