Pros

Good pay and benefits. Good people to work with at the Port Huron mill

Cons

The company uses umbrella contracts to pit different mills against each other and chip more and more compensation away from workers with each vote. Decided to close a small yet profitable mill that produces paper for medical PPE, pharmaceutical companies, and food packaging as a means of offsetting corporate losses in other areas due to Covid-19.

Pros

Close knit excellent maintenance teams that seem to do the impossible with the amount of understaffing over the years. Couldn't ask for a better place or people to work with. I have loved my time at this mill. Domtar has no idea at the quality of the institution\people that they are casting off into the abyss.

Cons

The corporation as a whole I am not a fan of. It seems they acquired Resolute FP to strategically dismantle it. They have closed several of the RFP mills and Coosa Pines an absolute institution that has been the backbone of the community for over 75 years is the next on the chopping block in May 2026.
