Pros

Free food? Some good people?

Cons

Everything about this company is a mess. No one knows how to run a company. Managers come and go, new hires come and go, objectives come and go. If I had a dollar for every time they told me to do something one way and then switched it a week later without telling anyone... Except for the numbers/underwriting departments no one has any idea what they're doing. You want a job where they clearly explain what to do? This isn't it. Help from other employees? Nah... but the employees are good at organizing themselves into cliques. I've heard the new "team lead" is the worst yet. Most passive aggressive corporate environment I've ever dealt with. And their whole website is BS. They lend to mostly white people, mostly men, and almost all making over 6 figures.

Pros

I have genuinely loved my experience at Earnest so far. One of the biggest positives is that everything I was told during the interview process has turned out to be true, which made starting here feel really reassuring. The company is also very open to feedback, and I have felt supported from the beginning. It is easy to get answers to questions, and people are willing to help, which has made onboarding and learning the role much smoother.

Cons

The only area I can really point to for improvement is training. I would have liked a little more outbound training early on. That said, I know this team is still fairly new and actively building and improving the process, so it feels more like a growing pain than a major issue.

Pros

Collaborative environment and good team culture - You get to touch a lot of different kinds of work, and teams genuinely want to partner. Product wants to work closely with Brand and Marketing, and even though we all have clear roles, people actively pull each other in for input. That’s felt really refreshing compared to more siloed teams I’ve been on before. It moves fast here but the vibe isn’t “rush and hope,” it’s more “let’s do this well, test it, and learn.” Research and testing results are shared pretty broadly, which I love. There’s a lot of iteration, but it feels informed, not random. Leadership has been solid about sharing both wins and headwinds. I appreciate the transparency. We also have more frequent all-hands than I’ve had at other companies, which helps everyone stay connected to what’s actually happening. Joining in time for the annual offsite was a highlight too, especially as someone working with teammates across North America. It made the company feel smaller and more connected in a really good way.

Cons

I really don't have any cons to report - I'm a little over 90 days in and everything has been really wonderful. I feel well supported, the culture is great. We're doing smart, informed work.

Thank you for taking the time to share this review with us! We’re thrilled to hear that the collaboration across teams feels real and that our focus on thoughtful testing and learning is coming through. It’s also great to know that our transparency and LA offsite made an impact. We’ll keep leaning into open communication and finding ways to bring people together. Thanks for being part of it.
