Pros

The benefits were great and flexible, lots of paid vacation, many different team so opportunities to grow your career *should* and *could* be plenty. Lots of employees and a friendly atmosphere. Casual dress-code, can work from home 2-3 days per week.

Cons

- Too many layers of managements, more often then not useless. Lots of managers (in my experience, most) are external hires and show little to no understanding of the actual moving parts of the job and the company. Lots of toxic managers, who despite being flagged multiple times, still spend their days micro-managing, practising favouritism and generally not adding any value to anyone or anything. - So much attention is put on Culture and Values and the likes, as "proven" by the constant mandatory training all employees have to take. One always wonders, do the managers not see that they do what those videos are trying to prevent? Management and HR talk the talk, really loudly, but they don't walk the walk. Actions reveal another truth. Profiling, bullying, harassment, favouritism and nepotism are all alive and well at EDC, despite the beautiful Branding and quarterly Diversity training. - The "EDC experience" depends on your manager/s and how much they like you rather than abilities or performance. No matter how much growth you show, seniority you have or extra responsibilities you take on, it won't matter if you're not already drinking the kool-aid with the managers. - The morale and trust is on the decline and those who speak out get punished. Unfortunately, HR is just a Resource, not a Human. They are very good at validating you and your concerns while doing as little as possible. They will let you down slowly and kindly, leaving you feeling played. - They keep changing what they say, from "no one should be worried about their job" to firing 80+ people. From "we won't force anyone to go back to the office" to having to go in 3 times per week and pick in advance the days you will go in to let your managers know. Their word lost meaning a couple years ago.
