Pros

Outstanding pay and benefits for those who transitioned from Verizon. Great new Next-gen network buildout to serve as the backbone for many new products. Stellar workforce that can figure out manual workarounds for almost any systems issue.

Cons

Negligible pay for legacy Fairpoint and new employees that are not represented. Systems never worked correctly, should have stuck with Verizon's. Too many holdover "us vs. them" mentalities that impede progress in all aspects of the business. Tunnel vision departmental managers that refuse to see the bigger picture (a lot of passing the buck). Micromanaging employees. Executive decisions based on a spreadsheet, from afar. High turnaround of senior leadership. No clear direction from senior leadership. Aging fleet that is not being replaced. Aging plant that is not being fixed. Culture is flagging in terms of serving the customer - a lot of "give a darn" meters have pegged out.
