Pros

Benefits, and lots of events for employees. Nice office layout.

Cons

Started off as a great place to work, but now has plummeted and become the most toxic work experience. Just about everyone I know is looking for an out to work somewhere else. Management and executive leadership within Operations are very gossipy and immature, confidentiality is not maintained for employees (private details about employees and past employees are discussed) – senior management is known to go overboard with role playing in training settings by yelling, repeatedly swearing and mentioning inappropriate things, such as asking an employee under training to have a meeting at a motel, to “throw off” the employee and see how they deal with the situation. Absolutely disgusting and unprofessional behaviour that does not get addressed as there is a clear hierarchy despite Flipp saying they are a flat organization. Senior management is incredibly arrogant and has acknowledged that humility (one of the core principles of Flipp) is one of their biggest weaknesses - something that doesn't appear to be changing or addressed by Flipp. Management begins spying on individuals once they express concerns with various aspects of unfairness taking place, to the point of not allowing team members to meet without management supervision. There is also excessive favouritism, where employees who are low performers but friends with Management will get promoted, even without the standard interview process and despite not being qualified. Management is constantly gossiping about their subordinates and their personal lives - confidentiality is not taken seriously and neither is professionalism. This is a result of Management not receiving adequate training and is winging their management style. A lot of inappropriate and offensive things are said to employees. If an employee confronts the situation, it’s downhill from there as management doesn’t like feedback, despite broadcasting that feedback is important and taken seriously. There is also an abnormally high turnover rate at Flipp where people are getting fired or quitting on a weekly basis. Never seen this at any other organization. I have heard from an ex employee that they were even offered money to not take matters to court or write a bad review about the company. Also heard they used to give out Starbucks gift cards for positive Glassdoor reviews, which says a lot about the way they go about things. No work-life balance. If you complain, don’t expect a promotion. People who slave away are the ones who eventually get a promotion. Compensation is not proportionate to the amount of hours you work.
